ZionTPS

Unity 6 Third-Person Controller

Featured

A modular third-person controller for Unity 6, built around responsive CharacterController movement, configurable camera behaviour, and a clean foundation for your own gameplay systems.

Overview

ZionTPS is a modular third-person locomotion controller for Unity 6. It provides the player movement and camera systems needed to get a character-driven project moving quickly, without forcing your game into a specific genre or a large all-in-one framework.

The controller uses a CharacterController-based motor and includes walking, running, sprinting, jumping, crouching, rolling, falling, landing, gravity and camera-relative movement. It is designed around Unity's Input System and supports keyboard, mouse and gamepad input.

ZionTPS also includes a configurable third-person camera rig, animator-ready locomotion setup, camera profiles, setup tooling, validation and demo content. It gives you a strong controller layer to build on while leaving combat, inventory, quests, interaction, AI, dialogue and UI decisions in your hands.

Core features

Third-person movement

Walk, run, sprint, jump, crouch and roll with grounded movement, gravity, fall and landing handling, and camera-relative controls.

Camera system

Smooth third-person camera follow and orbit behaviour with configurable distance, pitch limits, profile switching and optional dynamic field of view.

Modern input support

Built for Unity's Input System with keyboard, mouse and gamepad support, helping you build for desktop and controller-based gameplay.

Designed to extend

A clean controller foundation that can sit alongside your own combat, interaction, inventory, AI, quest, save and UI systems.

Setup Wizard and tools

ZionTPS includes editor tools to reduce repetitive setup work and help you configure a humanoid character more consistently.

  • Guided Setup Wizard for model, animation, camera, modules and output setup
  • Humanoid character validation and common setup checks
  • Generated player and camera setup for a consistent starting point
  • Diagnostics tools to help identify common scene and configuration problems
  • Animator-ready locomotion workflow using blend trees and parameters
  • Demo scene and sample content included

What ZionTPS does not include

ZionTPS is deliberately focused on the controller and camera layer. It is not an all-in-one RPG or combat framework.

  • No weapons, combat system or enemy AI
  • No inventory, crafting, dialogue, quest or save-game framework
  • No forced UI system or gameplay loop
  • No requirement to use a particular character, art style or genre

This keeps the controller focused and lets you choose the systems that suit your own project.

Expand your gameplay

ZionTPS provides the movement foundation. Add companion assets and your own systems as your project grows.

ZionTPS • Stats Module

Available

Add health, stamina, mana, XP, regeneration, stat presets, gameplay events and optional HUD generation without changing the ZionTPS core controller.

Zion XRay

Available

Add a scanner mode with through-wall target highlighting, active-objective tracking, world markers, a scanner HUD and NavMesh GPS trails.

Zion XRay works alongside ZionTPS but does not own your quest system. Your game chooses the active objective; Zion XRay visualises it.

Your own systems

Flexible

Build your own game around ZionTPS. Add combat, interactions, inventory, AI, quests, dialogue, save systems and UI without replacing the core controller.
